Longest Hair In The World 55ft - Asha Mandela                    Asha Mandela's hair is 55 feet long. That's longer than a city bus. Long enough to have earned her the Guinness World Record for longest dreadlocks. Long enough for the weight of it, about 42 pounds, to cause a curvature of her spine and the back of her neck to begin to collapse. Doctors said it could even result in eventual paralysis. Not, however, long enough for her to cut it. "It is my life," Mandela said of her hair. "I will never cut it."
The 47-year-old Atlanta mother of one credits her hair — which she has been growing out for 25 years and wraps up in something like a baby sling to keep it from dragging on the ground, snagging on bushes or getting caught in doors when she leaves the house — with getting her through cancer, two strokes and two heart attacks. It has brought her fans, she said, prompted her to launch a hair-care formula and spiced things up in the bedroom. So despite doctors' warnings, Mandela has no interest in going shorter. "Cutting it would be equivalent to suicide," she said. "It would be like being a zombie.
